Server Help

Anonymous Posted: 12.09.2011, 22:43
Unregistered User Need help again. Up untill this last weekend I have been using Windows 7 32 bit, and have not had a problem with Team Speak, but I now have a new computer withWindows 7 64 bit and I can't log on. The first couple of times I received the message that the server may not be on, and now I keep getting the error msg Socket Error 11004.

Thanks in advance for any help

I cannot be of great help as I still use Vista 32 bit and everything works perfectly.
Nevertheless I have the feeling that in your case it is a "port forwarding" problem. With the development of more and more firewalls and sohisticated anti malware programs it is becoming rather difficult to communicate with another server or computer outside internet!
Myself I use a cheap payware that solves the problem almost all the time : it is called PFConfig and cost less than 30 bucks. Found at https://secure.portforward.com/store/pfconfig.cgi
But I do not guarantee that it will work for you, It also depends which router you use and your own configuration.

Bob,

I agree with Yoland that connecting with a server is getting more difficult, probably because of the "defensive" software we have all installed. I run Windows 7 on one of my machines and I used PFConfig to handle the port forwarding and , while I was able to connect with the server, I was not able to participate in mulitplayer flights with more than one other pilot. I also run Vista on another machine and have not had a problem.

I'm thinking the FSHost server has been offline for the past couple of days. Doesn't even show up on FSHostSpy, which it did previously.

PS. Also using Windows 7, but have had no problems with 8-10 other people on another server on the weekends with either FSHost or TS. That's why I think SPA's must be offline temporarily.

Please be aware that the server mentioned on the "online page" has nothing to do with SPA server. It is juste an open server that I picked up using FSHostSpy and which used to be available all the time previously. In this field I know that the situation changes frequently and the best I can suggest is that you perform a search with FSHostSpy to find an available server each time you wish to fly online.
Myself I do not have time to continuesly check the availability and change the server IP.
At this time I think that it is fair to remind that I organised a real FSHOST SPA server with a provider, and that he closed this service after a few month as nobody from SPA (except myself) ever used it!
