Gentlemen, if you visit Pilot's Office > #13 SOP manager's Office and look for POSTAL FLIGHTS, you will find a new section concerning the Misty Moorings Area. For all detail concerning the setting up of the required scenery addons, please refer to our partner's web site (all links provided from our home page and our Misty Moorings page).
For bush flyer and low and slow adventurers...
Enjoy !

Yes, you do as the have added their own airfields and seaplane bases. But do not hesitate, everything they have is free and if you follow carefully the (quite simple !) instruction, you will have no problem getting ready for the fun. The Misty Moorings people are also very helpful and should you need more detailled infos, you should register on their website and use their forum were you will find lots of precious advices.
Cheers

Yoland, Your postal flights around Alaska were some of my most enjoyable bush flights because of Orbx. Now - with the Misty stuff I look forward to trying that next. Might I suggest you include Wilson River Lodge in one of the circuits because it's a rather challenging field and the scenery from Misty is very nicely done there - same with Nina's Landing and Herring Bay. Plus - I think they'd like to get mail

It is certainly a very good idea and I will set up a new circuit within Misty Moorings scenery taking into account your suggestion.
On the other hand, I am presently developing some new postal flights with very short hops in other areas for all those who do not have the ORBX sceneries and thus cannot access to the Misty Moorings great addons.
I have noticed that these Postal flights with short hops are very popular and some of our pilots certainly like the idea of just spending about half an hour to complete a mission.
Anyway, the Special Ops department will propose new developments all along the year 2015. And therefore I am always interested by all the SPA pilot's suggestions.

Great job, Yoland. I love to fly in the Misty Fjords area with Misty Moorings scenery and Orbx. Keep up the great job you're doing!

Here's a link to an article on the front page of today's Los Angeles Times:

It's a about a pilot named Randy Sullivan who flies a Beaver floatplane out of Ketchikan. Very interesting. At least we don't have to worry about submerged logs in the Orbx scenery.

Great post Mike... and so much more interesting when one knows this area and what Randy Sullivan is talking about, thanks to our hobby. Even if for us it is only virtual, we can certainly better understand the feeling of these every days bush & float pilots.
Thank you for sharing

For a taste of the risks and rewards of bush flying in winter out of Ketchikan, check out my pictures of the first four legs of Yoland's Misty Moorings postal flights.
