Gentlemen, I have opened a new section with old SPA flight missions which were hidden in dark corners of our website. A dive into the past of SPA!

Unregistered User Glad to see a rejuvenation to the old gal. Nice looking old/new stuff. Now if we can get some audience participation, perhaps we can do some group flights around the beautiful areas ORBX and Misty Moorings have given us!

Unregistered User Yoland & John, I just finished the first flight from KMSP into CYYM. Lovely weather the entire trip using Activee Sky Cloud Art at 32,000 feet. When I received the ATIS for CYYM, I was shocked at 0 visibility in blowing snow. I soon found out that the ATIS was correct and I did not see the runway till I was about 10 feet above it!! Probably should have gone around, in hind sight. But I managed a soft landing, maybe the snow helped!! Thanks for bringing this set of scenarios back from the crypt, it should be much fun, especially now that winter up north is upon us!!

Hah Scott - That's about the way it looked for me two days ago.  They must be getting a lot of snow there.  The next two stops weren't much better for me either.  Fortunately I could use the ILS systems at these airports, but my old-fashioned DC-9 has no GPS (although I could cheat using the default but didn't), so I've been white-knuckling it into these airports using VOR to VOR navigation and non-GPS approach icon_eek.

Unregistered User John, I made it up to Yellowknife today. Weather was much improved, I could actually see the runway before I touched down! No excuse for my rough landing today! The airport looked familiar from watching the TV show Ice Pilots. This is fun, thanks again for bringing it back!!

Glad you're enjoying the latest offerings at SPA, but it's actually Yoland who is (and will be) doing all the work on bringing those old pages back to life.  The original (past members) of SPA put so much effort into the research and setup of those flight plans we hated to see all that work disappear, so Yoland took on the job of going through those old files and data, then creating new web pages so that they can be integrated into our current flight offerings.

I have just added a new range of "Oldies" flights around the Baffin Island. It's going to be very cold firedevil
