*** Website Migration Imminent - SPAACARS Update Required ***

Pilots,
I have decided to move our site this week.  I can't give you an exact date that it will occur because that will be up to the provider and the time it takes for the DNS to update.

I can tell you that the old SPAACARs program will not work with the new provider and you MUST UPDATE to version 10.21.  I have that placed in the download area under Enhancements and then Utilities.  I have it available at both the old and new site.  You might change it now, as I think the new 10.21 version will work with both old and new site.  Don't forget you'll have to relink the newly installed SPAACARs to your spa.ini file from the "File" menu in SPAACARS.  Also verify the SPAACARS settings are the way you want them, as they might change with the new install.

The new site still has some unfinished areas, but I would like to make a controlled migration to the new site while our current site is functional rather than waiting for the next site crash.

No, it won't work and will have to be fixed as well. I'm hoping that I can make the necessary updates without having to download and learn FG all over again. I think that as long as I update the headers it will work. I've disabled the email notifications on PIREP entries because it's causing errors. I'll sort that out when the migration is complete.

I'm currently working on updating and debugging the Econ stuff (for those pilots who fly econ), and there are a few other things the pilot's location map ("where are we" map on the right side of the home page). Some of the links on the pilot office need updating - particularly the picture clicks. Most or all of the links under the picture work.

I'll let you know when I have a new FG version of SPAACARS for you to test.

Thanks Eric, that's a great idea.  I saw the email go through and hope all pilots take note of it.  

I have received the necessary authorizations and have sent the transfer request to our new provider.

I have a couple of pilots doing testing on the new system, and have had to make some adjustments to the PIREP posting code (on the server side, so no changes to SPAACARS version 10.21 that's available for downloading on both sites).

Currently, I think that most of the new site is functional except for the official Econ2018 flights.  Setting Econ Mode on SPAACARS will work now I think, as of my recent work on it today.  Other than that, just some minor links that need updating and the "where are we" map on the righthand side of the main page needs updating...and manually adding the rest of the random quotes that I especially like.  Also, I need to add the "shoutbox" module to the lefthand side of the page yet, as that seems to be more popular to our pilots than our actual forum.  Really though, I'd prefer forum use because it allows searches of past posts for information if pilots are looking for information, and Shoutbox isn't that robust.

That's it for now folks - as always, I'll keep you posted on the current status of our migration.  Before we turn the lights out and our old building, I'll grab the latest updates of your flights so that, hopefully, we won't lose any flight data during the move.
