Hello pilots,

has been some time since I posted in the forum. I still fly solo for SPA, and group flights with Flightgear UK (FGUK) friends on saturday evenings (20:00 UK Time). Last saturday we had such an amazing scenery above the mountains of New Zealand's South Island, I just want to share two of my images (see photo section). We were 5 guys with helis, flight leader (in the picture) and me in vintage Bo 105's.

Just to explain a little: In flightgear there is a standard scenery enriched with rendering of streets, buildings, etc. from open street maps, and plenty of stuff which active users have put into places (Eiffel tower in Paris e.g.). The scenery is very much dependent on regional development state, i.e. in Europe much better than in America or Asia, still it depends on earlier user's activities.

Since the last but one upgrade it is possible to integrate photoscenery from satellite images in a complicated way, I really haven't mastered yet. Therefore I usually do my solo flights with standard scenery. For the FGUK multiplayer flights on saturdays someone of the group fetches photoscenery for all of us and we fly together and just enjoy.

If you are interested in what we are doing: Usually, the flights are published on Youtube: www.youtube.com/@FlightGearUKTV

Happy flying to all of you
